The University of Vechta focuses its degree programmes on teaching, social services and rural areas. For several years in a row, the University of Vechta is one of the top ten universities in Germany when it comes to funding within the ERASMUS+ programme with partner countries. This results in numerous funding opportunities for students to study throughout the world. The university is not only well connected regionally but also internationally, and is characterised by the charm of a green, rural environment as well as international mobility.
Vechta is the only university in Lower Saxony that is explicitly anchored in a concordat, a church treaty with the Vatican in Rome. Even though this plays less of a role in the everyday lives of students, teachers and researchers on campus, it has enabled Vechta to establish itself as a special university location in the north-west, to the benefit of everyone and the region.
The campus, with its short distances, makes it easy to connect with others, meeting people and get to know one another. The canteen and the student-run café are just a few of the places where you can enjoy stimulating conversation. In addition, the university sports programme offers a wide range of activities. Beyond the campus, the town has top-flight Bundesliga basketball from Rasta Vechta, as well as a variety of pubs and cultural attractions to explore.
