University - The Particular

Cosmopolitan, personal and informal – these are the attributes that await students at the University of Vechta, a young, modern campus university in north-western Germany offering excellent study conditions: individual support, international exchange programmes and extensive service structures ensure that the University of Vechta is a small but excellent place to study.

Study Programme - Main Focus

The University of Vechta focuses its degree programmes on teaching, social services and rural areas. A two-subject bachelor's degree, which opens up a whole range of professional fields with a variety of subject combinations or paves the way to various master's programmes, complements the profile. "A degree programme that suits me" is the motto. The university thus offers an attractive, family-friendly, future- and sustainability-oriented, and academically excellent degree programme for people who enjoy working with and for others.

Background - The Insight

For several years in a row, the University of Vechta is one of the top ten universities in Germany when it comes to funding within the ERASMUS+ programme with partner countries. This results in numerous funding opportunities for students to study throughout the world. The university is not only well connected regionally but also internationally, and is characterised by the charm of a green, rural environment as well as international mobility.

What's special here?

Vechta is the only university in Lower Saxony that is explicitly anchored in a concordat, a church treaty with the Vatican in Rome. Even though this plays less of a role in the everyday lives of students, teachers and researchers on campus, it has enabled Vechta to establish itself as a special university location in the north-west, to the benefit of everyone and the region.

Where to meet

The campus size leads to many connections. In seminars, you are more than just a "student registration number”, so getting to know each other is easy. The canteen, the café, and other places on campus facilitate interaction. Top-level Bundesliga basketball, a wide range of clubs in addition to university sports, as well as pubs and cultural offerings in the city complete the picture.
