Background - The Insight
One key feature is the combination of different academic disciplines, such as in Migration Research, Cognitive Science, Environmental Systems Research and Early Modern Research. Additional highly visible key areas include the prevention of occupational skin diseases, as well as early childhood education. The Center of Cellular Nanoanalytics Osnabrück opened in 2017.
In 2014, the university was awarded one of the most highly endowed research awards in Germany, a Humboldt Professorship in Environmental Economics. The university is also home to Germany’s newest Botanical Garden, which is used for teaching and research, as well as offering relaxation.
