University - The Particular

Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences is the largest university of applied sciences in Lower Saxony, with a student population of around 13,500. A new lecture hall building featuring a spacious study space as well as a new library on the Westerberg Campus, a modern campus utilising the Lingen locomotive sheds and award-winning dining halls: these are only a few examples of what students can expect. Small seminar groups enable close interaction between students and teaching staff. Orientation weeks and mentoring programmes help first-year students get off to a good start at university. In addition, Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences offers free support for aspects related to learning.

Study Programme - Main Focus

Bachelor's, Master's and continuing education programmes cover all aspects of engineering, agricultural sciences, business management and social sciences. Further courses are available in the fields of communication, design and computer science, open space planning and landscape architecture, and theatre and music education, as well as therapy and health. Highly motivated teaching staff with a wealth of experience gained in national and international companies teach practice-oriented, professionally relevant course content. Integrated internship phases provide students with insights into their future fields of activity at an early stage.

Background - The Insight

Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences is also Germany's most successful university of applied sciences in terms of Germany Scholarship recipients. Students receive a scholarship of around €300 per month from businesses and the federal government as support while studying. When entering the working world, students also benefit from the university's outstanding contacts. Scholarships, practical projects, company site visits and job fairs at the university – students have the chance to meet potential employers while still studying. By doing so, Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences lays the groundwork for a successful start to a fulfilling career.

What's special here?

On the Westerberg Campus, students often meet at the "Frog". This lecture hall building with its spacious study space, located between a modern dining hall and the new library building, owes this name to its unusual architecture and colour scheme. With comfortable seating and large desks in a multi-level space, the light-flooded building is ideal for group study.

Where to meet

In addition to university parties, university cinema, concerts, theatre performances and sports, students especially meet at the ‘Terrassenfest’ (terrace festival) in Osnabrück. Every spring, the Westerberg campus transforms for three days into the largest student-organised festival in Northern Germany, where regional bands and DJs create a lively atmosphere. A real highlight!
