University - The Particular

The Private Hochschule für Wirtschaft und Technik (PHWT) – from the region, for the region! Theory meets practice. PHWT is an officially recognised private university of applied sciences. It exclusively offers dual educational and on-the-job Bachelor und Master's programmes in close cooperation with approximately 200 partner companies. PHWT offers students challenging studies, individual and personal supervision, and easy accessibility to their professors: "The Drive to Strive" is the motto. 2,600 graduates and outstanding CHE rankings testify to the PHWT’s success and extensive experience in dual programmes.

Study Programme - Main Focus

PHWT offers dual degree programmes in Business Administration as well as in Engineering at its Vechta and Diepholz sites. Business Administration focuses on SME management. The Zentrum für Werkstoffe und Technik (ZWT) at the Diepholz campus boasts a modern research and teaching building in the area of materials engineering for Mechanical Engineering. Since 2018, all engineering degree courses take place in Diepholz, with the construction of another ultra-modern research and teaching building – the Zentrum für Mechatronik und Elektrotechnik (ZME).

Background - The Insight

The Private Hochschule für Wirtschaft und Technik (PHWT) – the name says it all! At the end of 2013, PHWT was awarded the Oldenburger Wirtschaftspreis. This prize is awarded to persons and institutions that make an outstanding contribution to the region and its economic development. In addition, the university has always received top marks in CHE rankings. Finally, many PHWT graduates have since taken on duties at management level in one of the numerous companies in northwestern Germany and beyond.
